i would go for SLi 770s, 3 way SLI scales bad a n2 2 760s will not give u the performance of a Titan

The performance between 2 760s and 1 Titan are about the same (in the end, it depends on driver support for SLIing 760s). Ultimately jinayhvora is right the gain from 2 way SLi to 3 way SLI isn't much stronger as if you were to SLI 2 stronger cards. I agreed with jinayhvora, SLIing 770s is a better option and that would outperform a Titan. But if you want to avoid the headaches SLI brings, a 780 or the Titan you mentioned would be viable choices.

Titan is a waste of money, its a 6GB 780. 2x 760 will be about as fast, but, its SLI, so a bit more heat, bit more power, bit more noise, and potentially microstutter. It's not really any better other than you saving cash, so if you want to save money, go with the 760's.

Since you are at 1440p I'd just get a 780, it already has the 3GB frame buffer, so you don't need to overspend like you'd have to with the 760's to get cards with more memory.

Twin 760s top the Titan in Tomb Raider, tie in Hitman, lose in Grid3, win in Bioshock Infinite, lose (by 1 fps) in Metro LL, and take 2 of the 3 3D Mark scores.

Some titles scale very well in 3 way SLI (i.e,. Crysis 2 - 65% from 2 to 3 cards) bit it can even be negative at low settings....but wo uses low settings w/ 3 GFX cards :)

http://uk.hardware.info/reviews/4632/6/geforce-gtx-700-...

I have never encountered microstutter on Nvidia cards in SLI .... but keep in mind, never SLI'd two cards costing < $200 each. Only issue I had to deal with is wa slistening to my son whine about not having a profile for cupla weeks for BF3 beta

The 780 and Titan are already neck and neck. a OCed 780 will outperform a Titan that is set to clock speeds. For example here's the 780 sc with acx compared to a Zotac AMP Titan (not a lot of OCed Titans on the market) http://www.game-debate.com/gpu/index.php?gid=1770&gid2=...

It's up to you. I myself prefer going single GPU and don't see the need for 4GB cards if you are playing on standard resolutions.

Yes and probably will for a couple of years. If money if a concern, most of us commenting suggested SLIing 770s if they are cheaper then the Titan you are deciding on. For me, in the future I might get a second 770 instead of a newer card

Then go with the Titan. Where are you getting your prices from? Maybe I can help get the best performance for your price point.

Where are you buying from? If you are in the US, standard pricing is $400 for the 770, $650 for the 780, and $1000 for the Titan.

770 2GB IS 400. But i would want the 4gb Because i have 1440p Monitor.
The titan i actualy already bought. I got it from ebay with free shipping bran new in the box with the ebay 10% off Coupon. So it was 780.

Since you already purchased the Titan for 780, stick with it (Great price but a bit suspicious? Without the coupon it would have been 880ish, the Titan retails for 1000$ Why would a brand new card be sold for 120$ cheaper?) I don't want you get overly worried.

Seeing how the Titan is currently the strongest singlu gpu card on the market, 3-4 years. It depends on the speed of the graphical evolution in gaming

If it were me I'd cancel it. You can get a 780 with an aftermarket cooler for $660 which would be far better than a Titan, the Titan really offers nothing. Plus, if you wanted to SLI it in the future, it won't be as expensive.

Nothing lasts 5 years, I wouldn't hold onto a GPU for even 3 either.

I was thinking about getting the classified 780 for 700. If i was going to get the 780. But the 3gb is just not enought for 1440

August 4, 2013 3:16:56 PM

Where did you get that idea? If that were the case the only card anyone could use with a 1440p monitor is the Titan, off the top of my head thats the only way you can get more than 3GB of VRAM, other than a few older cards that were made as part of a limited run. Just remembered Nvidia do 4GB cards.

3GB is enough for 1440p
Eitherway a stock 780 retails for 650 and you paid 780 for a Titan that retails at 1000$
But the 780 you mentioned outperforms the Titan and if you were to use that coupoun it would drop from 700$ to 600$
The 780 would actually be better, you should have mentionned it earlier

The 780 Classified out performs a SC titan?
m

l
August 4, 2013 3:23:20 PM

Yep. You can't even overclock the Titan to be faster either as they share a 250w power limit, so they'll end up just as fast as each other.

Yes, OCed 780s outperfom Titans. The SCed Titan you got has a small 5% SC, it isn`t very noticable.

You don't need any special OC version, just get the cheapest one that has a good cooler. Asus, Gigabyte or EVGA, doesn't really matter. Overclock it yourself and save the cash.

All OCed 780 will outperform a Titan. A Titan can`t be overcloked much further because of the power consumption lock at 250w.

Honestly 2 things i wouldnt of spent what you seeing on that titan i would do A. Get a 780 and sli later on or B. Get 2x 770s and call it a day. You do realize a super clocked 780 beats a stock titan and 2x 770s out performs a 780/titan. For your budget since you spending 800 you would of been better off popping 2x 770s rethink about what you doing or did on the titan purchase

The guy advertised it as brand new, so wait and see if it is . If you do indeed get it and it is obviously oppened then file a complaint through Ebay asking for a refund saying that "This seller advertised a brand new item and it turned up being obviously opened and used". You don't have to pay 800 for SLIing 770s, a 770 can easilly handle 1440p gaming (most stuff maxed, not all) and then you can get a second when a price drop arrives. It's all your choice if you want a OCed 780 (outerforms the Titan), the Titan you purchased or 1 770 now and a second one later.
