I am looking to do a 3 monitor setup for work. Basically, one screen for stock quotes, one for chat rooms, and the other for internet applications. I do not do gaming and do not need a stretch across all 3 monitors for one application. I purchased a Sapphire HD7850 and I am getting an active DisplayPort adapter tomorrow. I will have 3 monitors connected, 2 at 1920x1080 on the sides and the middle being 1920 x 1200. The middle does not run at 1920 x 1080 without looking distorted. Will it work if I do not use Eyfinity and keep the 3 monitors at these resolutions? I guess I can replace the 1920 x 1200 with another 1920 x 1080 monitor if really needed, but I would prefer to use what I have.

Can this be done?

Thanks.

Yes, absolutely. I've used a 2560x1440 monitor along with a 1920x1080 monitor, it works fine. The only problem will be moving the mouse in-between screens, it'll pop up at the wrong height relative to the other monitor, but that's fine. Even with monitors of different sizes and resolutions, if you don't need gaming and you can take a little bit of awkwardness with your mouse, it'll work just fine. Especially with the resolutions you'll be running, you won't have a problem.
If you meaning running "full screen" .... I have been told no by GFX card manufacturers.....you might try using all 3 screens in window mode....with the 1980 x 1200 screen leaving a 120 pixel high band along the bottom..... I find this quite handy for small utilities and other doodads so I can have quick access (i.e. a media player, temp monitor etc)

Was working on a power plant system whereby we wanted a "desktop" with 1680 x 1050 and three wall mounts at 3 x 1920 x 1080 (5760 x 1080). We get a band across the screen, vendor said because the screen ratio is not consistent but it's not that noticeable. They said would be fine if all monitors were 16:9 (like 2560x1440 along with a 1920x1080)... the desktop one is 16:10
