Last thing left to order for the PC I'm building is the monitor. I've used my Dad's 20 inch Gateway HX2000 for school and gaming and have been happy with it for type of games I play (Witcher 2,Mass Effect Trilogy, Batman AC, Civ 5 etc).

Tiger direct has this monitor on sale, and I like the specs I understand, but I am not an expert. Is there something I am missing? The HX2000 doesn't have good internal speakers, I use my own. Are they normally bad at this price range, or is it worth it to get them built in?

It doesn't look horrible for the price. Major seller, major brand. They sometimes have things like this on sale, just to get you onsite and buy stuff.

The only issue I see is no HDMI input.

Go for it.

I figured that was okay because I don't think I'll want monitor speakers. Most th forums seem to conclude dvi and hdmi are the same video quality. 3 year warranty as well.

Yes, HDMI and DVI are pretty much the same video signal. There is no difference either way.

Those look pretty good. The reviews out there will be the make or break for you.
