Video card or motherboard broken?

Hey all! So I feel like I am getting the warning signs of an impending component possibly breaking but I am not sure and not sure how to go about testing to find what is wrong.

Alrighty so I have an EVGA 670 GTX FTW (2gb model) (1 Year Old) and an Asus P8P67 Pro (2 years old) motherboard.

Events:
Woke up at 6am Day 1:Turned on computer followed by 1 long beep, 3 short beeps. Reading the manuel it says that it is a VGA not detected error (monitors did not turn on)
Shut off computer and same beeping happened.
Put my video card in second PCI slot and computer turned on and worked.
Shut off computer and reseated my video card in the original PCI slot, computer turned on.
Played a few games and noticed ALL my games are running like garbage (a lot of lag and low FPS).
For some reason my Nvidia Drivers vanished and I had to reinstall them, reinstalled them and restarted the computer and bam everything works fine.

Woke up at 6am Day 2: Computer worked fine
8 hours later got home from work with same beeping issue as before.
Reseated video card and worked fine.
Checked my Nvidia drivers and they did not uninstall themselves, everything remains fine.

Day 3 Today: Nothing YET has had an issue.

I am worried that either my video card or motherboard is about to crap out on me but I am not sure what is the problem. I lack a second video card to test anything with. But I did notice that I appear to only get the beeping issue after a long period of time (8 hours) with the exception of today where it works fine. Before I jump the gun and buy a new motherboard/cpu or video card I was wondering if anyone had any advice or maybe a test or something I could try out.

You are in a bad position diagnostic wise. From what I read a video card that gives a no VGA error on a P8P67 (and similar boards by Asus) will work normally on another board while a different video card will work normally in the P8P67, so even if you had access to different hardware for a week you might not get a solid answer.

Has your video card been performing well since reinstalling the drivers? Do you get artifacts? A failing video card will often cause bluescreens and reboots. If your problem is currently only at boot I think that points to the motherboard.

From my personal experience motherboards go bad more often than video cards. My current motherboard is an Asus and I have already had it RMA'd; all the internal sata ports...

You say you lack a second video card, I suppose you lack a second motherboard too?
What power supply do you have? What temperature does your graphics card hit at full load? Have you left your graphics card in a different slot for a while to see if the problems returns?

I looked around and a lot of people have the "No VGA Detected" problem with their Asus motherboards. Some people with P8P67 Pros have the no VGA beeps on random boots. Some people even get the VGA error when their CPU is causing the problem. If you can still get the motherboard replaced I would do that.

Here are some things to try (no particular order) if you haven't already:
Clear the BIOS.
Re-seat your RAM.
Update your firmware.
Make sure all required power is connected to you 670 and the motherboard's VGA light is green. See if the light switches to red on a bad boot.

Ya I do not have a second motherboard. I have a XFX PRO750W XXX Edition PSU which is about a year old. My video card runs at around 65c while playing a heavily modified skyrim. Today I just put my video card in the second slot below it (the 8x slot) and it has not given me an issue YET. This issue literally started happening last week, and this build is almost 2 years old (with the exception of the video card).



I have tried clearing the BIOS and resetting it.
I actually have not tried re-setting the RAM but I guess it couldnt hurt to try!
I did update the firmware on the video card and the BIOS on the motherboard to make sure its all up to date.
All the power cables to seem to be connected properly.

From my personal experience motherboards go bad more often than video cards. My current motherboard is an Asus and I have already had it RMA'd; all the internal sata ports just died one day. Both the first and my current board rarely power up when I press the power button. It starts when it wants to start and that seems to be a design flaw - officially my RAM is supported but I think support for it was a hastily applied after-thought.

Very interesting about the Asus motherboards. At the moment I have the card in the 8x second slot and it runs good like normal. When it was in the top slot and sort of running (with lag) there was no artifacts or anything to signify something overheated or really broke. It didn't even occur to me it's probably the motherboard if its only at bootup.

Now the ultimate struggle, buy a new Haswell mobo/CPU or just upgrade my motherboard and keep the sandy i7?
