I have a Seagate 500GB Portable Hard drive, about 2-3 years old. Worked fine last week, which was the last time I used it. I tried using it just now and it wont start up. The light that always went on before isn't even working. Nothing registers on my laptop when I plug it in, also tried on my xbox 360 and same result, nothing comes up. It fell a few days ago, from a table, about 3.5 feet high, nothing crazy, just a normal fall. Is the fall the reason it won't start and how likely is it that its dead for goo?

no, it's powered via USB. Dam, I never knew that even a little fall could ruin it. I have another external HD, but its a Western Digital 2TB and its bigger and has a power cable. Would that get ruined by a fall as well?
