I use TP-link model TL-SF1005+ and I have an ethernet cable connected to it from my PC. I am trying to connect my PSP to the same network, but it requires a WEP key. I have a webstar router next to my TP-link router. My ethernet cable is in the TP-link router.

I found my default gateway from command prompt, but whenever I type in my default gateway IP address into firefox, it loads for a long time and then it says "the connection was reset". I have tried typing all address on internet explorer as well. The default gateway I have is not 192.168.1.1.

I have tried resetting my router, and it didn't work. The same problem happens. I have held down the reset button for over 10 seconds.

Anyone know how to obtain WEP key in this scenario?

Super Update:

I decided to use my parent's routers. I reseted it and it erased the previous SSID and WPA or WEP key(they don't know their WPA or WEP key either). I did this without telling them. I managed to connect my PSP wirelessly to that router now. But now I need set up a new SSID and WPA key, and I need to do this from my own computer, which is not connected to their router. Is this possible? Because right now my parent's router is not protected.

You can't change the router configuration if you're not connected to it.

Why can't you connect your computer to the router and change it since you connected your PSP to it?

It was a wireless connection. I scanned the router with my PSP, I was hoping I could do that with my computer.

If you can connect to the router wirelessly then go to the default gateway IP and login to the router internals and set up the SSID and key.
