Keyboard Typing Itself Issue

So my friend is currently asking me how to help fix his problem with his keyboard. It is typing random keys over and over again and spazzing out without him pressing anything. He has uninstalled drivers and reinstalled and is currently running a virus scan. When he opens his on screen keyboard, it shows both control and alt keys as well as the windows keys flashing repeatedly. Does anyone know what to do about this?

Keyboard is either defective or a key is stuck. Try a different keyboard after uninstalling EVERYthing connected or for the weird keyboard. If the problem is gone, RMA the defective KB or throw out and get a new one.

If it is literally typing random keys, and even the onscreen keyboard shows keys being pressed, I'd say that's a sign of some rather serious malware, what are the virus scan results?
