This is the card I just purchased for my Dell XPS 8500, 460 W PSU:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130826

It was only afterwards I realized there are many different GTX 660 cards available from the website. If you exclude the "Ti" model, some of them are 60-80 dollars more. Here is the search list:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=GTX+660&N=-1&isNodeId=1

While my video card is in the mail, I'm wondering if I should have paid an extra 60 bucks for one of those other cards. Would it have been worth it?

Unless he wants to change his PSU and find one with 500w and compatible with that Dell case, he'll have to stick with the 660 or 660ti

I would have told him to grab a 760 instead but if he wants and can change his PSU and grab a 760, he should go for it.
