So after a week of revising and revising, I've built up what I think will be a really nice gaming computer that should be able to last me quite a while.

I have put much thought into overclocking, and I have absolutely no interest in it, so this system was put together without giving a care to overclocking.

I went with the i5-4670 over the i5-3570 since it'll give me at least a little wiggle-room for upgradability, what with the Broadwell generation being compatible with the same motherboard.

I also realize that 16gigs of RAM is overkill, but its within the budget so hey why not? If its not gonna cause the system harm, might as well pump it up so I dont have to worry about upgrading when DDR4 comes out.

The only thing I'm not entirely sure I want is the case. Its a bit expensive, and I dont mind downgrading as long as its got good airflow, is large (since I never move it), and allows for great cable management with a non-modular PSU.

Well, I think that about covers everything. Tell me your thoughts!

i dont know about haswell version, but at least for ivy the difference is about $5 for K vs non K, might as well get it if there isnt much difference and just never use it if you dont ever want it

black is supposed to be the performance version, but since you have an ssd, the blue will probably do just fine for you (ive also seen review comparing the noise it makes to a coffee pot)

maybe look into the msi version of the gpu, ive heard good things about its cooling

fractal r4 is a good case and should only be about $90

maybe look into samsung 840 pro, its more expensive but many say is better

since you have extra budget i would personally say upgrade psu to something like hx model, but that's your choice. and if you plan on sli you...

That's a great build, but I'd recommend you getting the K version of the i5 4670, it only costs a few dollars more, and you can overclock it!
I'd also suggest you getting a Caviar Black instead of a Caviar Blue, they're better for your uses.

Well like I said, I'm not really interested in overclocking. Thanks for the suggestion though!

As for the Black instead of the Blue, whats the difference? I mainly plan on putting my games on the SSD and then everything else on the HDD.

They aren't, they just have more aggressive marketing and a better warranty. Same manufacturing process, different advertising.

"Performance. The Black is optimized for performance at the expense of noise and power consumption, the blue is a general use drive, designed to be a good balance of performance, power consumption, and noise, and the green is designed to use as little power and make as little noise as possible at the expense of performance." - cjl, Expert in Storage.
