am looking for a good wireless gaming headset for my PC, and am planning to use the same headset with my FUTURE PS4, And this is where i got confused, how can i know that a certain headset will/will not work with the PS4?

any suggestions?

thanks in advance

UPDATE: i would like it if it supports 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound, for FPS games.

Noticing this third link is most wired and you said wireless so ignore this third link unless you want to check them anyhow.

I wouldn't get anything before the release of a headset that is known to actually be compatible with the PS4. It might be bad ju-ju. For example if the bluetooth technology changes and suddenly you get stuck with that headset and end up needing something new for the PS4. As of right now I think there are very few brands that make headsets compatible in all areas like Turtle Beaches but headsets like these are not cheap. Most start at around $80.

this is what i was afraid of :D

i will not buy the PS4 till mid 2014... ok so lets say a good wireless gaming headset for PC & PS3, i've seen some but honestly i got confused... i may take a PS3 from a friend for some exclusives.... so what i need to complete my new PC build is a good wireless gaming headset that is compatible with the PS3 too.

any suggestions ?

Turtle Beaches PX3 are pretty good I loved mine when I had them. I dropped them down the stairs and they broke though. :( They have preset programmable settings for PS3 also on the turtlebeach website. Compatible with PC and shouldn't be super pricey at this time since next gen consoles will be out soon, is there any specific budget?

how will it connect to a PS3 exactly? USB directly?
and i would prefer one with 7.1 Dolby digital, i think i can go a little higher.

If you are after something wired with 7.1 specifically I can take a peak might be a bit pricey at 7.1 though if thats not your concern then I can manage to find something let me see..

thanx i'll wait,

about the PX3... i saw a vid on youtube about hot to connect it to the PS3... he used an adapter to connect the component wires to the AV port on the PS3.... but doesn't that mean i can connect any headset with component cables to the PS3 using the same method?

Thats what I would think as well but this special adapter it comes with also has some special function with the programmability of this headset I know that much. Otherwise in any other case yes I would think so too.

interesting lists, thanks man.

after looking around i kinda liked the Turtle Beach PX5, it has a transmitter with optical input port, so with a mechanical optical hub ($25) i can connect my PC, PS3/PS4 and even the TV to the that hub.
plus the headset itself has a Bluetooth, in case of streaming from my phone...
what do you think?

Sounds great dude I was looking at the one's on the third link cause like I said before I haven't heard of them. I like that they are rated the most comfortable while still giving good sound quality. Personally comfort is what I want for long hours of gaming. Especially when I don't want to wake up or disturb my fam during their sleep! Plus they actually managed to make them look nice also. I don't mind dumping $100 on a good pair hopefully they are on the durable side.

I had PX3s (I think) once durability is there until they take a fall so handling is great but falls hurt everything. Maybe I will get lucky and these steelseries will not only be comfortable for long hours but a little bit more durable. I like plug-ins also because wireless usually less durable and I hate charging like mid game or something ya know. But hey if wireless is super necessary to you then that is what you should go for because those are your needs. I say the PX5 are great headsets go for it!
