hi
my names tim
a few days ago i got a 4 free computer boxs everything was there including power supply one of the boxes was a compaq evo it was working that after noon that i brought it in side then on the next day i removed the power supply to fit to a nothe mother board (another one from the lot of computers) and pluged it in the cpu fan moved the stoped on the removed mother board

later that day i put the psu back in the evo but it wouldn't start

the power supply makes the fans on the cpu and case jolt and the leds on the mother board flicker but does not turn on

even withe the psu is lose it maked a clicking noise which it also does when fited to the evo

also as stated when psu was working and fitted to evo there was no video n the screen i tried two video cards (as there is no output for vga on mother board)

so i was wonderingif the psu could be fixed

(note i have replaced the psu)!!!!!

(also note I have a lot of skill with electronics as I make my own pcbs and circuits)

Hi, you should replace that Power Supply with a new one otherwise it's gonna damage the components if it hasn't already.

I think it's a bad bearing

Don't take a chance running it again on any other system you may do further damage to other components.

No , I doubt it can be fixed
