Heey,
I have my graphics Cards since two weeks. I bought it so I could play minecraft with a good fps but it didn't improved at all. The fps is around the 40.
My pc:
windows 7
AMD FX-8120
12 gb ram DDR3
nvidia Geforce GTX 660
motherboard: ASRock 880GMH/U3S3 (CPUSocket)

I hope I gave enough information so you guys can help me fix this problem.

regards,

Stefdr

You can try a few things:

Make sure your java is updated, and is the correct version as your OS (32B/64B).
Complete reenstal the game, or java.
Make sure minecraft is up to date.
Make sure all your GPU drives are up to date.
Scan your pc (some virus could be slowing it down)

Another few questions:

-Your OS is 64 bits right?

-Do other games underperform like minecraft (do you have bad fps)?

-What psu do you have?

-What monitor do you have, what resolution do you play?
(if you play minecraft full screen 1080p with some demanding texture pack, i wouldt be suprised for the bad frame rate, minecraft is a huge demanding game.)

checked everything that is above except for a virus (it's scanning atm)
as answer on the questions:
It's 64- bits windows 7
games like bf3 are also underperforming
Whats psu? maybe nooby of myself
I have 2 monitors:
1. HP vs17 (1280x1024@60Hz) (square)
2. SAMSUNG (1680x1050@59Hz) (tv 32 inch)

my play resolution is 1280*720 on my tv monitor

for the other, overclocking didn't helped:(

PSU = Power supply unit (its the thing that powers your sistem) it has a brand and power (mesured in watts, for example XFX 650W)

If other games are underperforming than the GPU(the grafic card) is probably somewhat broken, im not to sure what you can do to test it, but someone here can give you some advice.

If either you have a virus (unlikely but possible)
Or the PSU is not enough to power the card and it just doesnt work like it should.

it is surely his CPU.. Minecraft is not a hard game for a computer to run. I run it at 5332x1050 with a 256x256 texture pack with 35% gpu usage, now my cpu (FX series overclocked) is around 50% but minecraft only uses 2 cores. If i run minecraft at stock speeds i get around 30-42 FPS, not a constant 60. Everyone knows that Intel has a huge advantage in single threaded performance compared to AMD. As for Battlefield 3, before i overclocked my CPU i would get around 30-50 FPS on ultra at 1680x1050, i overclocked it to 4.3 and get almost constant 60fps. (Multiplayer playing along with 64 other people on a US hosted server) Im kind of wondering if the OP was actually able to overclock his cpu correctly if he didnt know what a PSU was.. Now it could be not enough power to his system, but i doubt it.
Just my 2 cents
