Solved Do I lose USB 3.0 if i put Sandy Bridge on Z77 mobo? Tags: Sandy Bridge USB3 Motherboards CPUs Last response: August 5, 2013 10:12 AM in CPUs Share bingaloman August 5, 2013 8:38:38 AM I have a Z77 motherboard and plan to move it over to another computer and was planning to get a cheap sandy bridge CPU like the i3 2120. Would a sandy bridge CPU on a Z77 motherboard not allow the USB 3.0 ports to work on the back of the motherboard and also the front panel USB 3.0? And also what other downsides are there on using sandy bridge on Z77? Thanks!
