Dell Dimension 3000 stays in hybernation

Dell Dimension 3000 starts but will not send signal to monitor. Looks as if in hybernation

Here's the Service Manual in PDF for your computer ftp://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_desktop/... which is handy to have - look at advanced troubleshooting

One thing to consider (which may not be in the manual) is the CMOS battery (the watch battery on the motherboard) may be going bad which can have very strange effects on the machine (including not starting properly). It's an easy and inexpensive "fix" if that's the issue
