I'm probably going to order the parts tonight or tomorrow. I already have an OS(Win7 pro)and monitor. I'd like to use Amazon for the whole order if possible (I have Amazon Prime).

I do not plan on overclocking. Because this machine will be used mainly for gaming as well as some 3d modeling (Autodesk Revit, Inventor, etc.) I went with an i7-4770k. Do you think I'm just as better off with i5 4670?

Here are some other questions and thoughts I have:
1. Stay with GTX 760 or upgrade to 770? I want to be sure I can max out Rome TW 2.
2. ssd: Samsung 840 pro or no pro? 128gb or 250gb?
3. Is this PSU okay?
4. Can anyone recommend a nice 2.1 speaker set for under 50$
5. Do I need to purchase thermal paste?
6. I need more case fans.

I guess most of it is a matter of wanting to spend some extra bucks. I'm at 1264$ now and willing to spend a little more. However, I'm definitely trying to keep this build under 1500$. I'd appreciate any thoughts or concerns.

Solution
if there isnt much of a difference between the K and non K processor (for 3570k it was $5 more than the non k) the you might as well get k
depends on your monitor size i think but i believe the 760 should be fine, can use the saved money for other stuff like..
check out the hx model or, if you really want to spend the money, the ax psu, i think cx might be fine but these should be better (and modular)
if you dont plan to overclock i dont believe you need the paste (although better than the stock paste never hurts)
take a look at the corsair high performance twin pack for case fans, i believe the twin pack is $25-30 on amazon
the 840 pro is better, might as well get it if you can spend

yes, u can stay with the i7
get the 770
would advise u to go for 840 Pro definitely if u can afford it, if not then the regular 840 isn't bad either, go with 128GB, that much will be required for the OS and a few important programs
at this budget and with these parts i would stay away from the CX range or Corsair, have a look at the HX Series or the something from Seasonic/XFX, get 850W if u plan on adding another card or 650 if not (considering 770)
for speakers and case fans

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

Case Fan: Corsair Air Series AF120 Performance Edition (2-Pack) 63.5 CFM 120mm Fans ($27.09 @ NCIX US)
Speakers: Creative Labs Inspire T3130 25W 2.1ch Speakers ($54.98 @ Outlet PC)
Total: $82.07

I will look into those PSUs. Will a TX750 work? I believe that is what I got for my last build.

My monitor is a Samsung 24" that I bought a few years back. Its 1080p and I keep my resolution at 1920x1200.

Thanks for your help.

Get xeon e3 1230 v3

Its like a i7-4770, only cheaper

550w psu is enough for 1 gpu

Get b85/h87 motherboard if you dont plan to overclock

Get corsair vengeance pro memory beacause they are newer and look
better

Get samsung non pro ssd, same real time performance

For 300$ you can get a hd 7970, would be the best p/p

Fractal define r4 case

I need help with one more thing

I ordered the parts last night. I left out the RAM because I realized that I could save some money by using this ram that I had already bought a few months ago- http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004CRSM4S/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I figured it was the same as the RAM I was going to purchase except triple channel(+ 1 more stick). Will this be okay or do I need to go ahead and purchase the Corsair Vengeance Pro? Can I just use two of the sticks I already have and get the same performance?

i think that ram should be fine

just keep in mind that you may have trouble fitting it in with the cooler due to the massive heatsink on those sticks. if you hadnt already ordered would have recommended the low profile version of that ram..its pretty much the same but without the massive heatsink
