I'm trying to upgrade my pc for the first time. I'm trying to buy a Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition 1GB graphics card. I'm just not sure if my power supply(300wats) and my motherboard(Gigabyte Ep43-UD3L), Processor(Intel(R)Core 2 Quad Cpu).Would be able to Use the full capabilities Of the graphic card. Just wondering if i should change anything else. I Wouldn't mind having to change anything to support my graphics card since i'm on a budget.
If i have to i wouldn't mind upgrading my power supply to a 430watts.
This is my first time ever trying this. I'm just trying to look for something decent. that can run most game i want. also don't want something going wrong with my computer

Solution
Well today tomshardware get a review shows that HD 7750 GDDR5 > GT 640 but 640 isn't so that bad. How much did u spend on GT 640?

Plus u got a good French netname.

your computer is very old in general. I can tell you flat out, the motherboard you have wont take full advantage of the PCI 3.0 speed, as it likely only running pci 2.0. this wont effect performance majorly, the card will just run at x8 instead of x16.

I would recommend getting a budget gaming build going from scratch... your hardware is very old and the newer hardware is more efficient, faster, and has more useful features such as usb 3.0 and pci 3.0. if that's not in the cards, you will def have to get a better power supply, and I would go for a minimum of 500watts. the graphics card will pull about 100watts on load but its better to be safe and go bigger than risk not having enough power. with an old core 2 quad with its 130w tdp, 500 would be bare minimum i'd recommend.

Lol thanks.
The guy at my local computer store is asking around $100-$110 for the Gt640 i also saw it on Neweggs for around 89-99 for the 2G version. But i would rather Spend a bit more for the 4G version for around $109-139. Now that i looked up for the price of the 7750 89-109$ On neweggs.com. I'm thinking of getting the 7750 Now

Remember to get the GDDR5version of HD 7750. Even 2GB or 4GB DDR3 does worse than 1GB GDDR5 version. Remember, large video memory such as 2GB, 3GB only does a good job on med or high end gfx like GTX 650 ti boost, HD 7790 or higher gfx.
