Hi,

I´m building a new pc which I want to use for gaming, photography, simulation and 3D CAD (Solidworks, mostly design, almost no render). I'm having serious doubts about the graphics card. My current top three is:

GeForce GTX760
MSI N670GTX
FirePro / Quatro

Could you advise me on this one?

Cheers, Mike

Solidworks will run on Intel HD 4000 integrated graphics if it has to. You can use a gaming card. In some CAD programs, gaming cards actually render faster...

No professional work, just for student projects. I'm having serious doubts if a "gaming card" would work as all you read on the internet is about Quatro's of Firepro's....

Thanks for the answer!

When we designed a CAD machine for guys at my fraternity to use, we decided to use a 7850 simply because it would work and it was cheap.

Hi there.
Currently on a laptop with a ATI Radeo HD8970M 4gb. Love it :)

System:
Intel Core i7-4700MQ (2400.0 MHz)

Video:
Intel Haswell-MB GT2//Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600
ATI/AMD Radeon HD 8970M

Not sure if installed correctly tho, but Windows kept insisting I had 2 video devices....

No problems with games/heavy apps tho. Every game is on ultra-ultra and perfect in max resolutions
