A while back, I purchased a 24" monitor to have more work space instead of computing solely on my 15" laptop, so I extended the two screens.

My monitor has built in speakers, and they sound decent. Is it possible to have audio playing through my monitor's speakers and my laptop's speakers at the same time with the same audio playing?

I have beats audio/speakers on my laptop (HP usually includes this), and the speakers are not bad for a laptop. It would be awesome if I could have audio playing through both outputs instead of just choosing one default device.

Can I do this?

Solution
As far as i know this is the best and easiest way to do it system wide:

You will need:

a headphone splitter
a usb sound card
a 3.5 male to 3.5 male audio cable.
the free program playthrough

instructions:

1.plug in the usb sound card and set it as your primary audio output device.
2.plug the headphone splitter into your usb soundcard's output.
3.plug the one side of the headphone splitter into the monitor's input
4.plug the other end of the headphone splitter into the line input of your usb soundcard.
5.run playthrough and set it to forward the input from the usb soundcard into the internal speakers.
