Hello!

I'm trying to upgrade the memory of my dell optiplex 990 by adding additional 2g ram in each slot, but installing multiple ram wont let the pc start, i have kvr-1333d3s8n9/2gb-sp. i have tried each ram that i got (same one) and each of them work if put in alone. i have also tried every possible slots combination and nothing happen. hope someone can help me here to figured this thing out.

Thanks a lot!

Solution
Depends on the budget, and what you have now. A Radeon 7750 is a good budget card that you can get in small form factor and it run on pretty low power.

thanks guys for you answers, but it appears that it's my PSU causing the problem ( thanks to the guy from the other forum ). yes, i did reset the CMOS several times, and yes my mobo can handle upto 16gb of ram. system is running now with all of the memory sticks installed, but it runs without the video card, so when ever i put the video card, together with memory more than 2gb it wont work.

video card+2gbram= running, video card+more than 2gb ram= wont run, but all ram's (2gbx4) - video card= running.

I haven't tried it yet, so right now my system works with the 8gb of ram without the video card, i prefer it this way as of now, since I do more of a multi-tasking than gaming on my pc. but now that I know the issue, I can now also upgrade my ram upto the maximum capcity of the mobo. also I would appreciate a lot if somebody from you guys can recommend a decent video card, cause I do lot of 3d modeling and rendering as well as photoshop stuffs. im not yet in the go for the expensive one, just something affordable but works pretty decent.
