Cpu 8350 at 4.5
two gigabyte 7970s
750w 80 gold psu
8 gigs ram

on CCC version 13.6 beta 2, (13.8) crashes on windows 8.

vysnc off 120hz monitor anyways

on bf3 im only getting 100-120 fps in regular gameplay but then if i look out over the map a denser area ill get 50-60 fps, the problem is my gpu usages are only between 30-45 and my cpu is only at 70-80

another instance is on minecraft, running a shaders mod my cpu is at 40-50% and my gpus are at 30-50 usage again. but im only getting 40-55 fps.

It seems to me like there not even trying!

any advice on how to fix this? at this point i will try anything

Catalyst 13.8 should not be crashing on Windows 8, I'm running it just fine. Remove 13.6 first, and run Driver Sweeper if need be. 13.8 has a lot of Crossfire improvements, especially in BF3.

Ignore what your CPU/GPU usage say. CPU usage is measured by global CPU time not spent in the system idle process, it does not include blocking time spent within other threads. Since each logical processor is executing one thread at any given time, total CPU usage is not a viable metric when games have limited concurrency. GPU usage is a whole other beast.

BF3 is a very CPU intensive game (lots of software physics and software sound processing) which tends to favor Intel processors for threading reasons.

Minecraft is similarly very CPU intensive and lacks significant threading which is why it will cap out at around 40%-50% when performance is limited.

Everything seems fine to me.

But is this anywhat normal? and is there any fix

Yes, everything is perfectly normal.
