Hello Forum,

I am looking to upgrade my existing GPU, currently I have a VTX 6950HD 2GB ( running with an AM3+ x8 FX-8320, 8GB ram, 700w PSU + ghetto motherboard as I ran out of money for the upgrade)

I have to be honest, I am not really struggling with anything at the moment but this GPU has gone past the 2 year mark and I think it’s due an upgrade.

I am not familiar with the current architecture of GPU's so when I look at the current GPU's in the market I am not really sure if I am getting an upgrade or not.
I only use my desktop for gaming (CS:GO, TERA and WoW) so I tend to look at bundled game packages favourably.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Well, you certainly don't NEED an upgrade, but since you say you upgrade every couple of years, you must be on the money.

A GTX780 would do the trick. You could consider buying an identical card and going to KroshFire (failed joke there :p).

Your PSU should be able to handle it.

Consider a GTX760 SLI too, as these cards are scaling pretty good now a days.

Thanks for the response, at present my aft mentioned ghetto motherboard doesn't support sli/crossfire but I will definitely look into the 760 - the 2 year gpu upgrade thing is a bad habit from back in the voodoo 2 days.
