why overclock when your system can run most game at 60fps?

when your system can run most game at 60fps in ultra setting - without overclocking. maybe i'm missing something here. please enlighten me.

Bragging rights.

Some have 120 Hz monitors, and thus want to run games at 120 FPS. Or any other higher refresh rate.

Also, higher FPS means less input lag, so if less input lag is more important than not having screen tearing, then yeah.

id much rather have 80-100 fps than 60 since anytime you turn around, load something new, etc frames fluctuate and dip. i want that slack to keep it 60+ also with a 3570k at 4.6 ghz im confident in knowing ill get an added year or two before bottlenecking a gpu. with an ivy that shoyld be sometime in the 2030s =)
