FX6300 -Any benefit OC-ing to 4.0ghz?

Solution
other than more overall power usage, and heat there would be no difference in overall performance. for most things.
you may get a slight benefit from the clocks not having to spin up and down but thats offset by the other stuff i mentioned. so for your case. i would leave it be.

if however you chose to go higher then turning off boost would lead to a fair improvment in some things.

I meant for gaming only?
never OC-ed before and i'm not really interested in that but was just wondering if would be any benefit to do that since turbo would boost it to 4.0ghz when needed. (even if i OC i wouldn't pass 4.0ghz)
So turbo means it's already "automatically" OC-ed to 4.0ghz,right?
What the difference between fx 6300 vs 6350? 6350 has stock @3.9ghz(turbo @4.2) but 6300 is already doing that at turbo boost,so whats the difference?

if its turbing on all cores then there will be no difference in gaming for the most part. you may get a steadier frame rate on some games like bf3 but on the whole it wont make any difference.
if its turbonin 3 threads and disablin the other 3 to get the speed then you would see a benefit in most games that use more than 2 threads.
you would litrally have 3 more active cores as well as the faster clocks.
