Guys ive been using windows 8 for quite a while now and recently ive started to have issues with facebook. It won't load in any web browser, chrome firefox or IE. It doesn't work in incognito, i re-installed the browsers, didn't work still. The only way it does work is if I use system restore. Even then it works for as long as the PC is on. As soon as I put it on hibernate, and turn it on again, it stops working!
And sometimes, after ive restored, it just stops working in the middle. And now even restore isn't helping anymore.

Please helppp! I will be eternally grateful.

Solution

Could be Windows fault, try System File Checker
Winkey plus 'X'
Choose Command Prompt (Admin)
Type sfc /scannow then Enter
I've had many problems with 'Sleep' and 'Hibernate', I hope that the 8.1 Service Pack will address the issues, meanwhile avoid!

Oh i think i fixed it. I set a manual DNS server address in TCP/IP v4. I think that fixed it. Thanks anyways.!

I had same problem in my windows 8 laptop. Facebook was not loading in any browser. I have changed some settings in Internet Explorer and facebook started working in all the browsers.

open IE internet properties -> connections -> Lan settings and check the box Automatically detect settings. After this FB started working in my laptop. Hope this is helpful.

In my situation I found that it was because Facebook was using ipv6. My new Windows 8.1 computer had it turned on by default. I turned it off and voila - not a single additional connectivity problem with Facebook. Probably need to revisit my router settings to get ipv6 to work, but in the meantime, my frustration level has dramatically decreased!

Turn off ipv6 in network and sharing center (adaptor settings : right click wireless adaptor : properties : uncheck ipv6).
