Hi all. I was wondering, if case buttons are reversible, Why do some motherboards show a polarity on them and why do some case cables show a polarity on them?

So that they don't have people ringing up saying 'help, which way do I plug this in'.

There's no electrical reason for it.

That's what I suspected. Although, if someone is n00b enough to not know it is reversible, they shouldn't be building a pc.

Not really, most people who build a PC aren't electronics people. There's no real need to know about basic circuits to do this.

It's sort of like asking people how explosion board is made before letting them set up a flatpack table.
