Hi everyone! I just saw a review of 4670k. I see that at stock speed using corsair hydro series H100i 4670k hits 70c and under load reaches 80c!!!
Don't get me wrong ,at the end of this week will have the parts all together!
So My specs soon enough will be this:

cpu:i5 4670k (stock)
cpu fan:coolermaster v8
mobo:gigabyte z87xud4h
ram:16gb corsair vengeance 1600
gpu:gigabyte 660 oc edition
case:coolermaster cm 690II
psu:coolermaster 850 silent pro
ssd:samsung 840 pro 128gb
hhd:2 caviar black 640 sata II on raid 0
sound:soundblaster x-fi titanium fatality
monitor:LG flatron E2250V 22''
os:win 7 ultimate 64bit
I mostly play at resolution 1680 x 1050.

On another thread I ask the community if the v8 coolermaster from my previous pc(socket 1156) is good enough. I have already bought the Arctic MX-4 paste to use with the cooler. The case has also pretty much good airflow but will it be enough to keep 4670k even at stock speed cool? I think 70c are too hot for corsair hydro h100i and V8 might not be good enough. I don't want to spend any more money. If under load and with corsair hydro h100i reaches 80c what will happened with the V8??
Please tell me because I have started to worry about temps.

Solution
I should think so, And worst comes to worse you still have the option of modifying your system if all goes wrong... I mean... a 212 is what... $30? :p

Can you post a link to this review? I would like to see what they are defining as "stock speed." To reach 70C it must have been under some kind of load or else they had the cooling turned off. I have an i5 Ivy Bridge CPU and even under gaming load it never gets over 40C.

He claims room temp was 21c !!! The only conclusion is that he did not use the H100 properly.
My question though remains will my rig be ok with v8 and mx-4?

Go to 9 minutes 6 seconds of the video and you will see the temperature graph. I think you misinterpreted it. It shows 28C at idle and the higher temperatures are under load.

You are right!
So what is your opinion about coolermaster v8 on 4670k using mx-4 will it be enough to keep cpu under load around 75c??

I also have questions Unanswered about his review. So not to be unfair about the ones that own 212 evo i guess that v8 will do pretty much the same as a cooler, right?

I don't overclock so I cannot help you out in terms of temps and coolers. On my system I run an Enermax ETS-T40 which is similar to the Coolermaster 212 though a little easier to install. I got a free copy of Metro Last Light with my NVIDIA GPU and when I play the game (it's the only one I have as I'm not really a gamer), the CPU temps only go up to about 42C from a base of 28-30 (depending on the room temperature). Most of my CPU intensive work is Photoshop and I have no performance issues at all.
