Hi,

I have tried many times to install the software that enables you to connect your BitFenix Recon to your PC and control it. I connected it through the middle usb connector as said in he BitFenix forums. Also I have followed all advice in the included instructions, even installed through the admin account (the one you activate through command prompt). None of this works I only get a screen that says the browser cant establish a connection to the local host. I have tried it on Firefox, Chrome and IE 9 all with the same result.

Thanks in advance,

Solution
Never mind guys I found the solution I just had to manually launch the software by right clicking on the desktop icon which took me to the recon program folder:

C: / Program Files (x86) / Recon /

I then started:

fancontroller_service

fancontroller_daemon

and then finally started

recon

It then opend my browser as normal and lauched the software YAY!

ps. If you didnt want to have to do this every time you started windows you could put fancontroller_service and fancontroller_daemon in the startup folder? (I haven't tried this)

ARe you trying to connect to it from your own PC or another PC? Many internal to external routed programs don't allow viewing on a local host.

EG. I've setup a webserver on my PC. My external IP is 23.45.67.89. I can't go to 23.45.67.89 on MY PC and view the website. Anyone outside of my network can see the page fine though. Now when you setup a web-based access, there is usually a "dummy" internal IP that can be seen, usually 127.0.0.1. You can try that.

The other thing is if you can't see it from the outside world, then it could be your router not routing it properly.

Thanks for the speedy reply!!

I am trying to access the local host from my own computer (the computer the fan controller is connected to) I doubt it is my router as in the 'troubleshooting guide' , if I can call it that, it says to active the fan controller service in services.msc but I cannot see that listed in services.msc Also whenever I try to install the program windows always prompts me to say that the program may not have been install correctly. No matter if I choose to let windows alter the settings or just say it has install properly I get the same error
