Upgrading CPU or SLI i guess?

So I have a AMD Phenom II X4 970 BE paired up with a 660 ti, I'm wondering if I should buy another 660 ti to sli, or should I upgrade the cpu? If you would recommend the cpu, then to what cpu?
Any other suggestions are also recommended.

Your 660Ti is a really good card so it depends. If you play MMOs like Planetside 2 or if you render stuff then you should go for the new CPU. But If you you play games like Battlefield 3, Borderlands 2 or Metro you should upgrade your GPU. And if you're going to to SLI you need to have a gaming PSU with a minimum of 700W.

I would personally go for the GPU, only because I'm Frames Per Second hungry, good luck.

If I was u.
I will depend on wat game u always to make decision.
If for most game available on PC they are optimize for intel processor.
If u dont mind, SLi will idea for u.
But i wont doubt that processor will bottlenecking your gpu performance.

I play both type of games, but what if I overclock the cpu? Can that help?

A 970BE will overclock well. 3.8-4.0GHz should be attainable with good cooling and solid power from a quality motherboard.

It will be enough to push dual 660ti's in SLI. Bottlenecking won't be an issue on a good motherboard.

Example: I have a 1090t x6 @ 4.0GHz on a 990FX motherborad (2 x PCIe x16 slots @ x16) and it maxes Crysis 3 on 2 HD 7950's in crossfire and will push both cards to 99% with the CPU at 80-90%.

The only unknown here is what motherboard you have. As long as it is an AM3 or AM3+ with good PCIe support you'll be fine going SLI.

I have 990fx r2.0 or something like that, im not at home, its a asus sabertooth if that helps?

Oh really? I'm running SLi'd 660Ti's and a 2600k on a 620w PSU and things are just fine and dandy.

I'm not saying things won't work fine and dandy, I wouldn't run 2 of those cards with a 600-650W PSU mainly because I wouldn't want to game with a 100% load on my PSU. How long do you thing that thing will last? Better get something something with a little bit more capacity and not cause your psu to freak out every time you put those cards to work.

My HX620's are both more than five years old (and then some!) and have both been running SLi'd 150w+ cards for most of their lives and are both still going strong.

If u dont really mind some CPU bottleneck ,
U just have SLi your GPU ~
U should get performance improvement in not CPU demand game ~
If on CPU demand game , there should a bit improvement too ~
if u mind it , just get new CPU , but also nid to get a MOBO in return ~
