Are you OCing? What are idle temps?

Check to make sure all the fans are working and blowing in the right direction (not working against each other), make sure the case fans are working properly with proper case venting, remove and remount the heatsink with very very little AS5.

Since you were seeing the same temps before perhaps there isn't a problem. What are you using to read the temps? Some of the Phenom IIs have iffy temp sensors that can read about 10 degrees higher than the actual temp. Try to use the AMD AOD tool or something that reads all the sensors and provide the all the temps the CPU is seeing.

Give us more information please. You're saying your Phenom II is running at 64 degrees with stock voltage but you have not told us you current CPU speed, you have not told us if you live in hot weather zone, you have not told us if you have your PC in room with air conditioner.

I had the same CPU @3.8Ghz with stock Voltage and i remember when summer time arrived it used to run hotter (62-64 degrees) while playing games. Now i have a Core i5 3450 and installed an air conditioner (25 degrees room temp) in my PC room and my CPU load temps are lowering from 54 to 46 degrees.

Hope this help!

try reapplying the paste with the rice grain in the middle method and see if it helps the temperatures.

are you overclocking also? i have a 955 i clock to 3.7ghz and it rarely goes over 45c maybe up to 50c if the ambient is around 26+
