Question about CPU and RAM

Imagine if the everything else is the same except CPU ram

What is better/ will perform better, An i3 with 8gb ram or i5 with 4gb ram. Laptop and why

Will the programs you want to run need 8 GB of RAM? If not, then chances are you want to go with the i5. But we need to know the exact CPUs to give you a definitive answer.

Depends on what you're using it for. For applications that utilize more CPU cores, the I5 is the better option. For applications that require more memory (dealing with larger files), then the I3 is the better option. Since this is a laptop and over-clocking likely isn't an option, I'd probably go with the Core I5 and later upgrade the RAM to 8GB.

Hello main priorities are

Super super fast boot times quick sharp responsive.
Super fast multi tasking
10+ chrome tabs mainly news websites or blogs but of YouTube and office.
No No gaming at all. Only solitaire :p

however u must also consider that in laptops i3s and (most) i5s are dual cores with HT, so no of cores is not an issue, an i5 will have Turbo Boost though

Given your response, I'd go with the (quad-core) I5 and 4GB of RAM and then, as soon as possible and assuming it's possible, upgrade to 8GB of RAM.
