Hi Guys,

I hope you can help me.

I have two 2MB 1600Mhz RAM mods installed and working perfectly on my p5g41c-m lx. I try to change them for two 4MB 1600Mhz HyperX Kingston mods and... nothing works. The computer does nothing, no beeps, no nothing.

I reinstall the two old 2MB mods and all goes perfect.

Doesnt this mobo dupport 8MB (2*4MB mods)?

If yes,... what am I doing wrong?

Thousand thanks in advance.

Raúl

You may have a voltage issue or just plain wrong ram. Post the specs on both.

Hi,

Both mods, old 2MB and new 4MB ones, works with 1,6v. If 2MB woks properly... the 4Mbs should too, shouldn't them?

About the specs... When I change the old ones with the new ones, the system do not start, not even the BIOS messages, nothing, just "no signal" screen.

What do you mean with specs?... Core 2 DUO 2,6Mhz, I have the last BIOS version update, 2 x 2Mb mods 1600Mhz RAM, ...

Raúl

About RAM:

Old ones: 2x2GB DDR3 1600 Patriot Sector 5
New ones: 2x4GB DDR3 1600 CL9 240 (Kingston)

I hope this helps.

Regards,

PD: I realized all time I have been writing MB instead GB. Lapsus, sorry.

Try setting the memory frequency of the memory to 1333MHz in the BIOS or do a BIOS update. And then install the memory. It should work after the BIOS update.

Hi,

I updated the BIOS to the last version without problems yesterday, but It did not work anyway. I press the start button and the fans and HD starts, but nothing more does it. No sounds, no BIOS message, nothing... just "no signal" screen.

I already have to try to change the "auto" option in the BIOS for "1033", as you point me, but with "Auto" It still do not work.

Any other ideas if fequency adjust fail?

Raúl

Is FSB set to 1333, if not set that, ten set DRAM to 1333, 9-9-9-27, and whatever the DRAM spec voltage is and also raise the NB voltage + 0.10 (that's the voltage for the MC (memory controller), give it a try and tell us what it does

Hi,

Just in case may be usefull, my specs:

MB: "PLACA INTEL CORE2 ASUS P5G41C-M LX SK775 DDR2/DDR3 PCX M-ATX"
CPU: "PROCESADOR INTEL QUAD Q8400 2.66 GHZ SK775 1333 MHZ 4MB QUAD CORE"
Old RAM that works perfectly: "MEMORIA KIT 4 GB ( 2X2 GB) DDR3 1600 PATRIOT SECTOR 5"
New RAM that do not work: "Kingston HyperX - Memoria RAM 8 GB (2 x 4GB) PC3-12800 DDR3, 1600 MHz, 240-pin"

Yesterday I was adjusting the frequency and voltage values. I set the CPU to 1333 and voltage to 1,65v and It did the same. It starts the HDs and the fans, but the BIOS do not start at all, no Beeps, no testing, nothing.

I did not found the menu where I could set the Latency, so I could not set the 9-9-9-27 values. But with the CPU-Z and the old ram values I observed that that were the values.

Any other Ideas?

Best Regards,
Raúl
