Im tired of the Razer Starcraft crap headset that i have now. The mics do not even work from the factory on them. I was using a rockband mic taped to my wall but can no longer do that as i just pained my walls. I use Skype alot, as i play games with my team of friends so it needs to have a good mic. I also listen to music that has alot of bass in it, so id like for the headset to have good bass. Please list me some headsets in the "under $80" range and "under $130" range as i am still undecided on how much i want to spend. Sorry for the poorly written question!

Edit: I do alot of editing, skyping, and listing to music.

I know you might be leery of Razer, but their BlackShark is actually pretty good. It would fall into the "under $130" category.

I use Megalodons, and I like them, but they require a delicate touch and a good knowledge base to get the most out of them. All sorts of problems plague an otherwise good headset.

Under $80, I like the Plantronics GameCom 780:

I hear the CM Sirus headset is a good one for around $100 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826570013&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-_-pla-_-Headsets+%26+Accessories-_-N82E16826570013&gclid=CIP-gbvh6bgCFYOe4Aod82AA7g)

True 5.1 Surround
40mm Drivers
Retractable mic and foam ear pads

When I get a new pair of headphones I think these will be my choice of upgrade.

Reading reviews on ncix, and the mic on the steel series is apparently not the greatest.

The Siberia V2 is cheap but how about the Asus Orion?

Tempting but the mic seems to break alot on them and people say they wear out quickly.

Between those two, I would get the Asus Orion. After reading a few reviews, it just seems better built and that it offers a better experience out of the box. I am looking at the stereo one, though the Pro (with virtual 7.1) looks like it might be worth the extra money. If you play any modern first person shooters, surround sound (virtual or analog) is worth it. The problem with true surround sound is that it requires more speakers to create the effect, meaning that each speaker is smaller. This usually hurts bass and sometimes even overall performance, with the Razer Tiamat coming to mind.

so do you think i should go for, 7.1 or stereo? ("I do not have a sound card and only currently using the stock sound card built into the z77 mpower with thx studio thing, if that factors a difference")
