Moving a hard drive.

I have a hard drive with windows 8 preinstalled that I would like to move to a more powerful rig whose hard drive died. I do not have the install disks and it will not boot when I just move it. What can I do?

I'm not an expert but what I would do (in my experience with W7 at least) is download the install disc iso's online and burn them onto a bootable DVD or USB stick. That's if the license for W8 is standalone (or whatever the term is) rather than OEM (linked to the computer it came with).
