I am using a sabertooth 990fx mobo, an amd fx-8350 cpu, and a sapphire radeon hd 7950. I have a hard drive set up for windows, and it runs fine, but I am trying to set up a hackintosh mountain lion on another hard drive. I have tried using a flash drive with mountain lion to install, and I have tried unibeast. Is there any easy way to do this, or do I need to do something more specific for my hard ware.

Solution
While its probably possible but since it's too much hassle including changing kernel (native OS X kernel can't run on non-Intel CPU) I would say forget it.

So would I be able to do it if I switched to an intel chip? I'd be willing to do that unless I'd also have to do something about the graphics card. I've heard that some can cause problems with hackintoshes.

Hi,
If you only want OSX to run certain applications like Xcode, you could try running the VMware version provided here. There is also the latest 10.8.4 version, but I can't seem to find the link right now.

I myself am pondering over the thought of assembling an AMD rig with the FX-6300 and an HD 7750.
If you manage to get the VM up and running, please do let me know if Xcode works.

Thanks and all the best! :)

Yes you can do it with AMD....
You need this kernal: vhttp://www.osx86.net/files/file/3657-amd-fx/
Need any help, ask there, they have really helpful people there :)

Dont switch to Intel, AMD offer very similar performance for half the price :)
