DIMM not always recognized

Hello,

I currently have a Dual Channel setup which, for the second time in one month gave me a scary "Memory Decrease" warning on boot. The first time i just changed around randomly the slots the DIMMs were using until eventually they were working normally using the original slots (Channel A Slot 0 and Channel B Slot 0). That was around 2 weeks ago.

Today I got the same message again, and decided to memorize my setup attempts. Before anything, I went on BIOS Setup to see which of the slots were not recognizing any ram, and it was Ch.A-0 (will use this shortening from now on). So I took the DIMM card on that slot and moved it around in the following order:

1. Ch.A-0: NOT Detected (I just removed it and put it back in just to make sure)
2. Ch.B-1: Detected
3. Ch.A-1: NOT Detected
4. CH.A-0: Detected

Again, It's running fine in the same slot. Sadly this doesn't tell me if one of the channels are bad, if one (or two) of the slots are bad, or if the DIMM card is bad.

As the data is not very rich, I honestly don't expect to get a definitive solution for my problem (other than buying new parts), but any insights are welcome.

Some specs:
Motherboard: Intel DQ57TM
RAM: 2 x 4GB Kingston ValueRam ( :( ) DDR3 PC3-10700 (667 MHz)

Thanks!

Solution
It may be looking at the slots you list as 2-4 as primary so it doesn't see anything if it's prime isn't populated, can you borrow other sticks and just add them to see if it picks up with all four slots occupied

Don't know exactly what that question means. These are 3.5 years old now, I bought them individually but the same model on the same day (Vendor didn't have a kit). Part number is 9905471-009.A00LF. They're 1.5 V and I'll keep a note to try running them at 1.55 V if any of them fail again any soon. Thanks.
