I wanted to install the heatsing so that it was long way up, so that the fan could push air out the back of my tower.. this is because vertically it won't box off my RAM, and also I heard the type of fan may be quieter if it is standing up instead of lying down.

So I went to do that, had the thermal paste on and everything, and realized that I cannot reach the screws because the heatsink is in the way :/ . There are grooves so that if I had a very long screwdriver I might be able to.. but as is, no go.

So I aborted.. but the thermal paste is already on.. is it fine if I just put it back? should I apply more thermal paste? do I have to remove the thermal paste I had already applied?

And am I missing something abt how to do it vertically?
