Are dual 21.5inch monitors worth while

I recently built a new rig and I'm finally making the switch from my 32inch tv to a 21.5inch monitor on account of using the new pc more professionally (less gaming more creating) and I was curious if a second monitor is worth it? And yes I still will be gaming very frequently

For gaming, 2 monitors doesn't really do anything, though I can have skype / Facebook / youtube on one, and my game on the other. For professional work, it's amazing. I have a 1080p and a 1366p monitor (different sizes too) and it certainly makes things easier.

On one I can have the web, searching things, the other can be what ever. It's absolutely great. I'd switch to 3 if I could, but without desk space, it isn't happening.

If you work a lot at a computer, more monitors is good thing. I have 6 on my work desk, two computers both connecting to two monitors, two computers connecting to a single monitor via a KVM, and another monitor for a fourth system. By far, the systems with two monitors are better. Do it man!

more monitors are better for multitasking
but dual monitors is not good for gaming as the center of the image will be the bezels of the monitors
if your not going to be doing a bunch of things at the same time
you can instead think about buying a higher resolution monitor
giving you a bigger and better picture
only problem is that its more expensive and more taxing on your graphics card

I personally think it is better to have at least 2 for gaming, more is better if you want eyefinity, but 2 is a good number for casual to mid range gaming. Having a game on my primary 1080p monitor with chats, builds, music, and chrome on the second etc is a great thing to have. Once you are done with gaming you can multitask with far more ease. Getting 2 is a good decision no matter what, gaming it will help, non gaming even more so. I got a cheap 90 dollar 21 inch acer monitor just to have for a secondary at the moment. You wouldnt use dual monitors for one image stretched across, but rather an extended desktop. Simply put, get 2 for starters no matter what. As long as you dont try eyefinty, which you cant on 2 anyway, its not very taxing on the gpu.

Alright well judging by all the answers and the way I know I already work I think 2 monitors is gonna be a good choice, but one more questions. Is it nicer to have 2 identical monitors or at least same size or if I Had a 21.5 and a 23 would my OCD kick in or is it not as weird as it sounds?

At first its a bit weird because when you move the mouse from the bigger screen over it moves down slightly because the tops of the screens are lined up, not the bottom. I have a 23 inch main, and a 21 inch secondary and after the first week I have no issues with it.

About what Gam3r01 said, you don't have to have the tops lined up. My set up has the lower res monitor about in the middle. The mouse does drop a little when I move over, but hardly not at all.

But, if I move my mouse to the upper right corner, it hits the invisible edge of the screen, same if I go to the bottom right corner, but middle right passes to the other screen.

I'd think two monitors that are the same makes sense, but mine are different sizes (one's >21", other is 18.5")

Yeah I'm most likely going to get another 21.5 because they are cheaper and it won't trigger my "OCD", but if I can find a bigger monitor cheap, through an auction as I did my current I will most likely get that and if I don't like it, sell it so I can get a same sized one.
