What card are you comparing to?

56c for a card when gaming is NOT too hot.

If you feel like a bit of work, you can get a bracket online to mount one of the all in one liquid coolers onto your video card. That is sure to drop the temps.

For better performance, you can buy/build your own liquid cooling loop for the video card.

56C? You've got another 34C of headroom, its not even close to hot, some cards idle near that.

Asus Direct CU II org Gigabyte Windforce, that's what i got from my friend.
The idle is 36 or 39 i forgot. So 56c is not hot? As i remember, i was playing Tomb Raider from 70% until Finish.

I am just saying that most reviews place higher end cards in the 70-80(techpowerup puts the Direct CU II OC2 at 76c loaded and the same goes for Gigabyte's card) range in games.

Higher idle temps can happen on many cards if they are running multi monitor as well since some do not clock down as much. Second cards in SLI/Xfire should be able to stay clocked down when not gaming.

If you think it is too high, maybe try to increase the fan speed a bit or reapply some fancy thermal paste. You may gain at least a few degrees.
