okay been thinking about building a pc for quite some time and went from planning on getting a 3970x to a 3930k. Now I find out some new 4930k cpu's are going to be released this sept. Should I just go ahead and buy the 3930k or is it worth the wait for the 4930k?

Yes they will drop in websites because you won't pay for a year old cpu that has the same $$$ for a new one. The price tags will drop. Remember to select a answer because people really appreciate it

oh thats going to be a good experience (started my first build too ) and if you only game i recommend an i5 because the 4930k and the 3570k do about the same in gaming expierence, but for editing, photoshop, etc wait another month and get the 4930k because ive been reading about it and there is a increase in the 4930k, i would wait a month if i was in your shoes because its up to date.

That is all up to you to ask a question, are you willing to wait a whole 30 days? Because the prices will be the same exact like maybe 10-20$ dollars more, but the new generations is always better, when you upgrade to the ivy bridge it's WAY easier to overclock, when you overclock it's going to destroy systems left and right.
