Ok, so i bought an SSD yesterday, got it all set up and installed my windows 7 on it, but now when i start my PC it asks for the hard drive i would like to boot from, and instead of having to select the first one all the time (my SSD) i would like to know how to make the old HDD not even register as a boot drive. Should i just delete system32 on the old one? or the users account? please help!??!

Hi,
I'm not sure what you did but it shouldn't be asking you that unless you have NO DRIVE assigned as the default boot drive.

Do this:
1. UNHOOK all hard drives.
2. Then, enter your BIOS and make sure your SSD is setup as the boot drive.
3. Confirm you can boot with no issues.

Somehow your system is getting confused since you have another bootable drive and possibly haven't assigned the SSD or HDD as the boot drive. THUS:

1. Reattach both HDD cables.
2. Boot to Windows (shouldn't be asked anything if SSD setup as boot)
3. FORMAT your hard drive as NTFS once you copy any files you need.

I additionally suggest you create a BACKUP IMAGE of your SSD once you are setup with all the programs you want, updates etc. You can use Windows...

I additionally suggest you create a BACKUP IMAGE of your SSD once you are setup with all the programs you want, updates etc. You can use Windows Image, but a better program is Acronis True Image (I use the full version which is about $50 to do automated weekly backups and delete older ones. There's a FREE version for some Seagate or Western Digital drives from the respective support site).

SUMMARY:
- SSD should be setup as boot drive in BIOS
- HDD should be FORMATTED as NTFS.
- backup IMAGE of Windows SSD once setup
