NOW WITH TITANS! (Third one will be added in the following weeks!)

Feel free to rate, change parts and compare! I'd love to hear any feedback (especially if you think I wasted money.. ;P)

So some of the parts changed thanks to you guys, as well as the machine got full 2 year warranty coverage from MemoryExpress, and a few extra peripherals not listed so the price came out to just shy of $6000 after taxes. (Keep in mind the PCPartPicker prices differed from where I bought the parts).

Big thanks to everyone who PM'd and contributed in this thread.

** I WILL UPDATE THIS THREAD WITH HIGH RES PHOTOS ASAP **

** SPECS BELOW PICS, sorry for low res. **

Even a Titan won't get you 100fps on ultra with AA. Let me fix this for you.

Case, change it, get a Phantom 820 instead, it's big, it's got a whole lot of fans, allows for multi-gpu configurations, is cheaper, and it looks good.

CPU and CPU cooler are good.

Motherboard is overkill but since you got the money then why not.

Memory is exagerated, you won't need anything over 8Gb. Just get 16GB and you'll be fine.

The SSD is big and slow. Corsair Force Series GS 180 Gb is way better and faster.

The WD Black is slow and overpriced, also loud, Seagate Barracuda 2TB or 4TB is a much better choice. Much cheaper too.

The Titan is overpriced, a GTX 780 SC w/ ACX from EVGA beats it while being 350$ cheaper. My suggestion. 2 GTX 780 SC w/ ACX, trust me, it scales well, and with that, you WILL get over 100fps at ultra with AA on.

The case fans are good.

The PSU won't be enough for 2 GTX 780s. If you don't want 2 780s then go for a Corsair HX750 PSU. If you do want 2 780s, then go for a Corsair HX1050 PSU, these are professional power supplies Gold rated, and Corsair is known to make the best power supplies, I hope this helped, if you need help or an opinion on a specific thing, let me know.

First of all: wow that chassis. Dang that's cool looking.

If I was spending that much on Mobo, CPU, Ram, SSD, and GPU, I would most definitely get a better psu such as the Corsair Ax760i http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-power-supply-ax760i (can't link on mobile) or the slightly cheeper Corsair Ac760 http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-power-supply-ax760. Both of those are really just a rebranded SeaSonic SS-760XP2 http://pcpartpicker.com/part/seasonic-power-supply-ss760xp2 but the Corsair version looks better, which will matter with your chassis.

Believe me, I lost a pretty nice motherboard, Core2Quad, ram, and Dual-sli GeForce8800gt's and basicly fried my hdd with a cheap PSU(darn you thermal take).
All the components you have chosen are phenomenal, yet the psu you have choosen is good, not quite phenomenal.

One last thing: Just a side thing but you might want to pick up some matt black spray paint to cover the awful looking sides of the BD drive since (I think) it will be fully visible.

Hope this helps and best of luck with the build! (Also please post photos after you are done, I don't think I have ever seen a build in that peticlular chassis)

Wow, you guys are fast! I'll try and answer everyone:

A few of these parts will change to due to PCPartPicker not having the exact ones I want. I don't have 780's (OC) in stock at MemoryExpress and they're backordered for months so I'd rather just stick with a single titan for now (I know, it's not as great, but will be replaced with something better down the road).

@David: I can't fit the case you suggested on my desk, lol. This case I picked BARELY fits (and is super sexy) so I'd prefer to keep it if possible. It's limited edition too. 32GB Ram is cheap now adays and I felt might as well, even though it has no particular gain to the system. Also, I thought the 840 Pro SSD's were of high quality? Gosh, I might be behind the times here.

@John: I'd love to show it off when it gets built for sure!

@FrankyDude: I'm a bit of an EVGA fanboy.. is the PSU I picked really that cheap? And yes, I will be doing some custom glasswork and painting to fix up the side panels on this chasis (as well as the ugly Optical). I'll for sure send you some pics, but it'll take awhile. The Titan itself is out of stock at MemXprs so I will probably be waiting a bit for it. Sadly, the 780's are backordered for months (all brands except Gigabyte's high performance OC'd windforce.. which look fugly to me).

@Anyone else who hasn't replied (or has) please, feel free to chime in. If a part is needed, or costs more but gives me better gain.. don't be afraid.

The PSU isn't that cheap, but everyone knows that Corsair is a leader in PSUs, all the guys that answered had the same remark, change the PSU to a Corsair, if you're gonna stick to a Titan, then just get the PSU I showed you (HX1050) if you will add a second one later on. The powerful PSU will last much longer and will be able to house many extra components. The SSD you chose (840 Pro) is good, but is more expensive than the Corsair GS, and is less performant.

Nope. corsair is a leader but its PSUs are made by Seasonic and Flextronics (i series) , and in the same sense EVGA's PSUs (the new ones) are made by Super flower. The PSU that the OP has chosen is of excellent quality. when it comes to psus the top brands are EVGA (new models), Antec, Corsair, Seasonic, XFX, and PC Power & Cooling. the 840 pro performs far better than the Force GS, though i would personally recommend the Crucial M500 960 gb. It's big, cheap and very fast. It also has the best sustained performance of any ssd.

I have tried the GS and Pro myself, the reads and write were faster on the GS and the IOPS as well.

well that HDD is kind of overpriced. you could get 3 2 tb drives for that amount of cash!
but really, the black series has negligible performance gain for the extra price. I recommend any cheap 7200 rpm 3tb drive as they offer way more value.

Yeah I figured as much. I'll snipe a 4TB Seagate and call it a day vs. that one. I'll just be using it for storage, backups and movies anyways.

Either way you go with the SSD you'll be fine because they're both very good. PSU, you got your answer, SLI? HX1050. Not planning on SLI ever? HX750.

Exactly, and thanks. Yeah the plan for this rig right now is not to spend as much as I originally planned and upgrade to a much nicer Haswell CPU in the future (or even Maxwell, w/e comes next). Probably a 6 core flavor. Then either add a second titan, or swap the titan for dual 780's from EVGA when they come in stock in the next few months.

I realize we're just fresh into haswell so I got the board I wanted for the processor I want later. :)

i disagree. 750 is enough for sli and both of those are overpriced and since they are made by seasonic anyways you could get the SeaSonic X Series X-850. that psu is enough for any future sli plans.

I figured I'd ask since you guys know your stuff. Why so much hate when it comes to the Titans? From all my research I've seen, people are enjoying them and their performance. Is it just basically paying for a "brand" (like you would an Apple product.. "expensive" for what you get) or do they actually just perform terribly vs. other cards.

The current Titan I've picked (Not listed in this build correctly) is the EVGA Superclocked Titan. I figured two of those would set me for at least a year.

Oh yeah? I build pcs daily genius. Make a build with 2 780s and 750 watts and try OC-ing your CPU to just 4.0 and your graphics card to just +50Mhz, we'll see if you ever get anything over 70% load or if you won't fry your pc.

okay take it easy! yeah i did read that dual 780s on a non oc build will pull up to 720w but thats why i recommended a 850W PSU. if you want to play it extra safe heres a [strike]good[/strike] superb 1kw PSU it's made by super flower, a company which often ranks at the top of PSU OEMs.

We're not hating on it, it's just not a smart investment, see, the Titan was not aimed towards gamers, it came with a 1000$ price tag, 6Gb Vram, all those CUDA cores, this is more professional movie editing and extreme tasks than gaming, what came out after the Titan was the 780, which is just a Titan with 3Gb and a couple cores taken off. Now companies like Gainward have superOCd models of the 780 like the Gainward 780 Phantom, or the upcoming MSI 780 Ligthning, now those cards are 300$ cheaper than a Titan yet outperforms it. So for those extreme gamers, you can get 3 780s for the price of 2 Titans, and get a whopping 300 FPS on BF3 in the largest map with the highest amount of AA while the Titans couldn't even get close. But as you said, owning a Titan is like having a Harley Davidson, it might be slower than another competitors bike, but it'll be more expensive, because it simply is a Harley. And also kinda has my name in it.

hit it right on the nail. 780s also have more oc headroom due to custom coolers and unlocked voltages.

Thanks for clarifying. I'm really dissapointed that MemoryExpress has 0 780's in stock, so maybe ill just stick with one until they come out, and buy 3/4 780's to SLI later.
