Hello everyone,

I joined this site because i would like some feedback and criticism on a pc that i have been planning to build for a while.

I would like to overclock this system to about 4.8 and if it can go higher then im fine with it

PROCESSER AMD FX 8350 @ 4 GHZ ,8-cores, AM3+ Motherboard GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD5 AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX
RAM Corsair Vengeance 8GB (1x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800
GPU XFX AMD Radeon HD7950 3 GB DDR5 2DVI/HDMI/2x
POWER SUPPLY (AX850)

MY BIGGEST CONCERN IS IF MY POWER SUPPLY IS GOOD ENOUGH AND WHAT COOLING SYSTEM TO USE
I KNOW I WILL NEED SOME TYPE OF WATERCOOLING

Solution
My suggestion to u would be to look for a 990x evo from asus
I know it is a 990x chipset and i m reccomending it against a 990fx chipset
But mate this mobo has great VRMs that are better for u to o.c. I used a test and it had lower temps than the 990fx pro board from asus and i used IR thermometer
I seem to recall somewhere that the AX series had quality issues. Someone correct me please if this is wrong.

That said, I have the UD3 version of that same motherboard with a Phenom II x6 1090t @ 4.0GHz and 2 HD 7950's in crossfire and it pulls 660-680w from the wall in Crysis 3 with the CPU at 80-90% and both GPUs @ 95-99%

A high quality 750w-850w unit will be enough. I'm currently using a PC Power & Cooling 950w unit for the quieter operation at load and I absolutely love it.

As for overclocking, the FX 8350 is a great overclocker. 4.8 on good air cooling like a Noctua NHD14 or Phanteks TC14PE is doable. 5.0 is fairly common on water with something like an H100.

Also consider the Asus 990FX Sabertooth.

Might not have the classic black looks the UD5 has but I think the Sabertooth is pretty much accepted as the clockers board of choice for its price.

Any idea how high an OC you can achieve with an 8350 on the asus m5a99x? I just got one of these boards last week.
