Hey everyone, new to tom's hardware here. I was hoping to get some answers as to what might be the best mobo for the Intel i7-3770K processor. with a stock clock speed of 3.5GHz, i have already overclocked it to 4.3GHz with the cpu in a gigabyte Z77 DE3H motherboard. Would the motherboard that i have currently already be good enough for its price range (about $92 on amazon i think)? Im really reluctant on spending anything near $150 for an upgrade, but i guess $150 is the highest ill go. So is there anything worth upgrading to within that price range? In addition to overclocking, i also have 4 x 4GB of ram. pci express x1 audio card, a GTX 660ti graphics card (also overclocked), 700W PSU, and im also looking to have this motherboard have sli capability, not really a problem in this price range though i guess. is also have a raidmax super viper gaming case, so its gotta fit into that. oh, and two pci e x1 slots as well would be a nice touch, but its of the least importance. im also a gamer, so higher fps providing mobos would be nice. and the more usb ports, the better :)

so basically, is it worth upgrading to a new mobo for something under 150, and if so, what motherboard would be the best option? thanks in advance everyone :)

Every CPU (same model) is different, and mobos differ also (same model) differ, so there is no way to accurately predict what any particular combination, I've built multiple 'identical' systems before and more often than not would have different voltage set ups on each....Also OCing is as much the OCer as is it the components (often more so)...so to a large degree the OC that can be achieved is really more the person doing it than the components used

i was looking into this motherboard earlier today, but im not really sure of what benefits it provides me over my current Gigabyte Z77-DE3H. can anyone elaborate on this please? be as technical and pedantic as you wish, i love technicality and pedanticity :)

Think real question is why are you looking for a different mobo? Obviously something is lacking in what you have...so I'll suggest the same mobo I have (and have built on for over 40 builds, the Rock Z77 Extreme 4, believe the best selling Z77 out there, highly favored by gamers and for high end business systems
