Resets desktop when rebooted

Hi there

I have a Strange issue with windows 7 and windows server 2008r2

I have noticed it on 2 different dominans at 2 different locations at to different companies but with the same setup. Windows 7 clients and a windows 2008 r2 server.

Why does windows 7 reset the desktop completly and remove the icons that the user has put there? And how to fix it. My server also resets the entitet desktop when updated and that is annoying, how to fix it.

I doubt we can help on his one - the only person to explain and possibly change the setup is your Network Administrator.

Prob just a bad windows install I just had one that was doing the same thing.Tried restore to earlier date didn't help Reinstall fixed it..

You do seriously not suggest that i reinstall. 50 pc's and 2 servers that is not going to happen i know that there are a way of doing it, i just Cant find it.

Although it seems unlikely that 50 PC's can all be wrong, two servers could well be. I'd start there and look at the Policies.

Servers are ok
And the pc's are fine except for one it keep resetting the desktop and Apps on every reboot, anyone have an idea????

In System Configuration (msconfig) is there a square blob in the "Load StartUp items" radio button?
