Firstly, thank you for this great forum to assist in resolving computer-related issues encountered by uses.
I just had a possibly data corruption problem on my Toshiba 500GB External HDD.
While using it, suddenly I cannot acess my files and thereafter an message to format the HDD before can use appeared. I have important files inside that I needed.
Scanning the forum, I read of successful recoveries by other uses with same problem, and one of the many solution is in data recovery software. I downloaded the EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Free Edition and is running it now.
My question is how long it it going to seach files for?
It been running for 7 hours, found 70,000+ files (and counting) and still 400 (yes, four hundred!) hours to go with the search!
Is it normal to take so long for 500GB HDD? Can't believe I had that may files!
What are subsequent steps after it completed the search? I have a new 1TB HDD on standby now.
Look forward to comments and support.
Great and forum!
