680 GTX using system ram

Hi my new Gainward 680 GTX phantom 2 Gb is using like 4 Gb of my 8 Gb, is it possible to stop this or change how much is being used. I'm using Win 7 ultimate 64bit on a Gigabyte GA970A-D3 rev 2

Of course. Go into Bios, somewhere there will be options related to graphics card memory. I think on my motherboard its under "North Bridge". From there you can turn it down or disable it. Mine did not allow me to completely disable it, but I was able to set it to 32MB. Sorry I cannot say exactly where in your bios to go, but I am sure if you look around a little you will.
