Hi.

I'm planning to build HTPC (hopefully silent) which will be connected to the Panasonic 42inc screen via HDMI. I'd like to go with intel i3 and a quiet noctua cpu cooler. I can't find a relatively cheap graphic card with a passive cooling system, so I'll have to go with integrated one.

And there comes the problem, i3 has hd 2500 graphics which is pretty useless, but will it be enough to play Full HD / Blu-ray movies which are over 8gb of size? Will there be any improvement in movie quality with a graphic card installed?
There are some expensive graphics cards with passive cooling on market, but spending over $150 and use it just for movies is nonsense.

On the other hand, I have over 2 tb of lossless music stored on my hard drive so I'm a bit suspicious with a cheaper solutions like an Asus e45m1-i deluxe motherboard which has a bit better GPU, but a bad CPU.

I'll be glad to hear any solution :)

there are i3 with HD4000 , here they are :

Intel Core i3-3225

Intel Core i3-3245

and I would go for haswell and i5 with HD4600 if you can pay more.

and big no the AMD E450 is not better than HD4000 , this is cheap low 1.8 watt system

Well, HD 4000 would be a decent option for HTPC, but I'm gonna wait a bit more for HD 4600 to get cheaper. Will there be ever an i3 with HD 4600?

One more thing... Is HD 5200 much better than these two mentioned above? On which intel series can I find HD 5200?
