for the same price can i get a better MoBo

Solution

So this is the build you currently own or one you're thinking of getting?

First of all I'd grab a better SSD such as 840 Pro from Samsung or Vector 4 from OCZ.

But if you are going with the 3rd gen.....I'd probably go with this board if I were you.

the reason i chose that SSD is because any SSD is an upgrade over a normal hard drive and im on a budget of £1000 for the tower, also it is what i will be building. i will also be running Xfire/SLI in the future.

i would cut down to a silver or bronze certified psu, and get a sabertooth motherboard, its a perfect motherboard for overclocking and perfect for a 2 way sli both runnning completely insane.

That's not necessarily true. Some SSD's perform just as good as hard drives with a tad bit better load times. I've done my research on this. Low-class SSD's are just like low-class cars, they just aren't as good. You get what you pay for.

I would not go with a Sabertooth with this build. there are many boards than can OC and run SLI without a hassle in the world. Sabertooth is just the flagship of them all. If you had a 2500 or 3000 budget then we'd be talknig about that, but unfortunately you don't.

There's little point going above a GA-Z77X-D3H or ASRock Z77 Extreme4. Both can do x8/x8 CF/SLI and have reasonable VRMs.

I would suggest a better SSD, but mainly because the early Sandforce drives had some controller issues.

If you're gaming you probably don't need 16GB of RAM, and that's overpriced anyway.

Much cheaper, but still very good, PSU.

i have spent like 2 months doing research and this is what i think im going to get http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/1r4uL (note the second graphics card will be bought as soon as i can but not striaght away).
i have gone with the extreme 4 but a few people i have spoke too said to go with a gigabyte board because they are thicker then the extreme 4 and use more screws to secure it.
I have changed a few things like the graphics card to a gtx 760 because its cheaper and with 2 way SLI gives better performance then a titan for half the price (from the research i have done.)
and i know it is already a little bit over budget but i want 16gb of ram and the only thing i may change now is the monitor.

You've got a good rig lined up, let them talk all they want about the GB, and a thicker PCB, one thing I try to take into consideration is sales, and the EX4 is, I believe, still the best selling Z77 mobo out there, and is right there as the highest rated Z77 mobo going.....it's great for novices, expert gamers, and business types all rolled into one - and extremely well priced
