I have an old first gen SSD that is slow. I'm running Win7 and wonder if I can use the As Cleaner to fix it up?

I know I can update the firmware in the drive so it will support Trim but It requires me to clone the drive, do the firmware and then put it all back.

I think I will hold off on that until I get a new SDD. I can clone my system to it. And make sure it works. Then fix the old one.

Thanks

freespacecleaner is what you want. IIRC As cleaner was renamed to that upon release of version 1.

You could also just let garbage collection do its thing by letting thepc sit at the windows login prompt overnite or run the manufacturers secure ease utility after you clone the drive.

Thanks PopaTim. Short term is what I am looking for here. So a reboot but don't log in. Sounds like Windows Voodoo......LOL But I will do just that. And then later when I have my new SSD up and running I will fix the old one properly.
