Network switch internet help

Im having trouble getting a network switch to share my PCs internet connection over my wired network. The switch is a TL-SG1005D. The network setup that is having problems is wired up as so. Modem > Switch > My PC with ICS enabled windows 8 > back to the switch > other PC on windows 7. any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need a router or your PC needs two network cards. You would need to.

Modem->router->all PC's on the network

Modem->PC Network card1->ICS enabled to share over Network Card2->Switch

Modem->Router->Switch->All PC's

No need for your PC to act as an internet gateway, thats is what the router is for.

You can even dump the switch if the router has enough switch ports.

thats the problem. There is no router, just a cable modem with one ethernet port which i am trying to split. that is why i am trying to use my PC as the router.

Spend $20 and buy a router. you can't do it without either a router or two network cards in your PC.

+1 on a cheap router, make sure it has a Broadcom chip, better than Atheros.
